Chickens On My Porch-Funny Story

So today I thought to tell you a funny story that happened yesterday that includes . . . YUP, you guessed it CHICKENS! So the story all starts like this. I was putting on my boots to go outside and check on the chickens(which are 2 months old) when I opened the door and found 6 curious feathery faces staring back at me! They were all on the deck steps and when they saw me they started coming up the steps onto the porch. By the way they unfortunately pooped on the steps and the deck. But then again it's one of the unfortunate consequences of owning chickens. lol. Anyway I went back inside to get some whole grain bread for them and I distributed it out to them at the bottom of the steps. Afterwards my Mom asked me if they had come up the steps because they didn't have any feed in their feeder. (Oh and I should also probably mention the reason of why it was so astonishing that the chickens had came to the steps. My chickens are chickens. Literally and figuratively. They are scaredy cats and they always stay together. They mainly stay in 2 areas:1.Under a tree & 2.In their coop or in their run. They have never gone to the steps voluntarily which concludes why it was so surprising to find them there. OK. Back to the story.) So I decided to go check their feeder and sure enough their feeder was empty! I quickly filled it back up and the chickens promptly went to eat from it. I think I honestly learned how smart my chickens are because they came to our front door looking for me to give them food. One thing I definitely know I think this incident just made me love them more! I hope you loved this story as much as I did and if you did please leave a comment and tell me what you think!

I was surprised when mine learned to come to the back door and peck on it to get a treat! They're certainly not chicken chickens, though!
