Chickens on the porch and a badger in the yard! HELP!

I haven't seen the silly thing since...but the weather has been crappy so we haven't been outside much. I now have free-range house chickens most of the day. The girls are quite spoiled and seem happy to be back inside.

We are getting supplies tomorrow to fortify the coop and build a bigger stronger run.

Is putting hardware cloth on the bottom of the coop (covered in dirt so the girls don't have to walk on wire) a good idea to keep any digging predators out?

Badgers can be extremely dangerous. I would not give it a chance to attack someone in your family or one of your birds. If you see it again, kill it.

they are diggers too they will dig a lot when you are trying to fasten a trap it helps top take this in to consideration
