Local ordinance reads "No person shall keep horses, goats, cows, chickens, sheep, mules, ducks, geese, turkeys or similar farm animals on premises of less than two (2) acres. In no case shall such animal be kept or maintained within 75 feet of any dwelling occupied by any person other than the owner of such animals."
So I built a chicken tractor and put it on the tree lawn.
Needless to say I received a citation (my 5th since 2008) for having chickens on my premises that aren't on my premises.
A few days after receiving the citation, I received an official looking notice of violations from the city.
Four violations
1) building permit
2) fence permit
3) yard maintenance
4) maintenance of yards and ditches
So I called the building dept. and the guy that sent the letter was out of the office, so I spoke with his supervisor, who had been on vacation when I put the coop up.
