Chickens pecking and flying at me

So I have an injured chook. We just put her back in the coop because she wasn't resting well by herself and while in there the others surrounded me, pecked at me and big red flew up at me. What can I do?

Is Big Red a rooster or hen? It is relatively common for chickens, especially roosters, to attack what they perceive as a threat. They may have seen you carrying the injured bird, thought you were harming her, and came to the rescue.

She is a she.. I hate for them to act aggressive now I'm worried about trying to help her
