Chickens pooping in nests!

Hi there,

I have recently experienced this exact same problem with my chickens, and i found that there is a solution. Before the hens go into the house at night, block off the nesting boxes so that they cant get in. Then, place her on the roost (if you have one). This should tell her that the roost is the place to go after it gets dark.

This is why it's better to start your own thread. When i first joined BYC, I was very reluctant to start a new thread, but really, it does cut down on a lot of confusion. Also, using the quote feature, though making the posts longer, helps to cut down on the confusion.

Exactly! Not to mention that forum etiquette seems to be extinct.
Editing quotes down to pertinent content is not that difficult(at least on my laptop).
Much harder since the 'Thread Starter' label is gone from posts.

Agreed. By the time I've read a page of posts, I often forget who started the thread, especially when 2 or 3 folks get involved by adding their stories or problems to the mix. I miss the old format.
