As has been suggested, treats and time. It has taken my chicks 4 weeks to get used to me. I talk to them, hold and pet them when they let me. I feed them everyday, so I hold the food in my hand before filling their feeder. Now I have one little Roo that will get on my foot as soon as I get in the pen. I empty their feeder onto the ground, throw more feed out, then fill it. Then have to watch my step because they cluster around me.
This is in addition to the guineas and banties that free range outside the pen and come running to jump on my power scooter when I am outside.
