Chickens sick

I have lost three chickens in two months. I lost the first one then about a week later I lost the second one. And it’s been about six weeks and I’ve now lost the third one. It looks like one more is sick. They all have the same symptoms twitching, staring off into space super lethargic and under weight and eventually pass away. This chicken in particular almost had a seizure after I picked her up she was flopping around and then died. I traded for lice last week as she was very infested. She was pretty much the only one that had it the worst, but I treated the whole flock. She had a hard time the day I treated her but bounced back and seemed better this week then suddenly she passed. I am at a loss on what would be wrong. I’ve been given electrolytes and probiotics in the water been making mush a little bit of grain with some water and a little bit of poultry cell sprinkled on it in the morning… I’ve been keeping the coop super clean. I’m not sure what else I can do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I’m still learning.

Have you de wormed them recently?

How long have you had them? Where did you get them? Have they been vaccinated for any illnesses?

I would be inclined to give them B complex and vitamin E just in case it's a severe deficiency.

I have never dewormed them should I?
If so, what do you recommend?
I got a few from tractor supply to one of the four from tractor supply have died then I got a few from a breeder at pineland Farms and one of the silkies passed away today. I got to a few weeks ago from Orchard Ridge. Those two are thriving. As far as I know, none of them are vaccinated.

The weight loss and lethargy could be due to worms and the twitching could be a vitamin deficiency due to not absorbing nutrients from worms.

I use Valbazen. It's an easy treatment. one dose given to each bird directly and another 10 days later. I soak it into a little piece of bread and they eat it our of my hand. It doesn't seem to taste bad to them.


I don't want to scare you but recently a member here had bought chicks from TSC and some from a backyard breeder. Her group now has Mareks at about the 4 to 6 month age. Not sure how old your birds are or how long you have had them.

What you are describing sounds similar to her experience.
Which is why I asked if any had been vaccinated.

Have they possibly gotten into anything moldy?
