I've been reading here for a while, but this is my first post. I have a problem with my chickens being sick. I only have 4 white rocks, 3 hens and 1 rooster. A few days ago I noticed the rooster acting like he didn't want to stand up. I noticed what looked like a sore on his foot so I figured he'd get over it and be fine. The hens have been acting fine. This morning, my wife called me at work and said that while my son was letting the dog out for the morning that he noticed one of the hens laying dead in the pen. When I came home from work today I went back out to check on the rooster and noticed some black specks on his comb. I never noticed this before. He is still just laying there. I did get one egg today, so maybe the other 2 hens aren't sick. The chickens are in a 8x10 fenced pen that is about 3 ft off the ground. The floor of the pen is hardware cloth. The only thing that we have done recently that we don't usually do is feed them some chickweed. The chickens are about a year old now, we raised them from chicks. Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to not loose the rooster or the other 2 hens?
