HI!
I'm relatively new to chickens and completely new to this site. I got three (1RIR, 1BR and 1BO) last september on a whim, and have fallen in love with having chickens (so much so that I have 3 more pullets- 1 ameraucauna, 1 white leghorn, 1 black sexlink and 3 new chicks- 1white silkie, 1 black frizzle, 1 silverlaced cochin).
This evening, after a long long day, I went to put the big girls back in their coop. I walked thru the back yard and didn't see them, so I called them. My BR Aretha (who had found her way back to the coop) ran out of the coop and to me, faster than I have ever seen her run and bawking louder than I have ever heard her bawk, and waited for me to pick her up and take her back to the coop. It was enough to bring me near tears.

The big girls- poking around after the rain.
