chickens staying in coop

We let our chickens out everyday and they spend sometime outside but they spend alot of time in the coop also. Is this normal?

Well, mine go in and out of the coop, but don't spend a whole lot of time in the coop unless they're laying, or it's very cold, or raining. Their food and water is outside the coop, so they really don't have a reason to go in.
