Hello! I have a bit of an issue, not too big so don't worry. My hens have stopped laying! Now I'm being told it is because of the cold weather (( this is their first winter )) that they stopped, seeing as their bodies will have to use the nutrients and energy to heat themselves up instead of lay eggs, but I would appreciate further clarification besides a Google search from people who actually raise chickens and will know whether this is a medical problem or just natural. Would appreciate any response. I'm kinda paranoid since I'm a newbie to raising chickens and these are my first hens. I probably sound silly but I still would like to know. Alright, thank you so much, see you soon!!

About 11 months, we used to be getting an egg each from them every day but now we're really lucky if we get 1 every 3 weeks or so.

Welcome to BYC @Quailiesss !

Sometimes first year layers lay thru their first winter, sometimes they don't.
Sometimes they will molt at that age, or just stop or slow down laying due to the lack of sunlight because of the shorter days. You r days should be on the upswing and laying should increase soon if they have everything else they need.
