The idea about having two runs on a coop is a good one. This way the sides can be rotated between chickens and a garden after being naturally fertilized.

I like the idea of the garden being naturally weeded as well. I didn't know that chickens break down every seed they eat. Explains how quickly a pen can be cleared out - and how long it takes things to grow back!

I didn't know that chickens break down all seeds they eat. Maybe it has something to do with seeds being ground up in the craw of a chicken. But I can see how it would make chicken manure more useful.

All it takes is the wind to blow some seeds into an area, and the weeds are growing again.
