Chickens viciously attacking kittens

We are having serious problems. Our chickens viciously attack our kittens. They attack in huge groups. We have free range chickens and they have never done this before. They have plenty to eat, grasses, bugs, corn, lay pellets, flock block....Some of these kittens are not very strong and kind of sickly but some are healthy. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this! Short of killing chickens, we don't know what to do. I will say the main instigators tend to be red - red stars, rhode island reds, etc. Our white leggings have joined in as have all the other breeds. We have a lot of chickens...somewhere around 75 that are out of coops now. Help!

Coop up the kittens! Big birds can and will kill smaller critters, and eat them! Sick kittens won't have a chance, especially. Mary
