Chickens who HATE snow?

Here's the inside of my two runs. Nice and cozy in spite of the blizzard. (see my exterior pic above in the middle of the blizzard, post #143.) Unfortunately, the doors to the coops are on the back side which gave me a good 3 hours of shovel time this morning. Snow thigh high but I wouldn't dream of not cleaning the coops.

Sigh...serious run envy here.

My chickens were not amused at all to wake up and see their first snow. These 4 are the only ones who braved venturing out AFTER I threw straw on the ground. The one in the doorway just couldn't bring herself to do it. And everyone else wanted no part of it and stayed inside. It was quite amusing to watch them today.

Thank you! Seems no matter what the temp is out there I have to be careful when I open the door or a few of them will make a beeline for the great outdoors!

That is so funny! My rooster jumped out when I opened the door, then zoomed right back in. I didn't see him anymore today until I went out to gather eggs. I never knew how entertaining chickens can be until I decided to raise my own.

Oh my gosh, so funny! But did you notice the lovely snow angels they made in the snow? Did you end up picking up the last two and putting them in, or did they go in on their own finally?
