Chickens? Why do u like chickens so much?

Alright, I'm tired of getting asked this at work, and I need a good answer can somebody please give a suggestion(s)?!? My answer is that they have personalities and give me fresh eggs but they still laugh (I work for retail). Anybody else have good reasons?

Because they're cuter than dogs, smarter than hamsters, prettier than cats, easier to house than horses and cuddlier than fish! So there!

Not to be blunt but does it really matter what other people think of your passion? Hold your head up and be proud you keep chickens for your reasons, whatever they might be.

If you're nuts for keeping chickens what does that make us?

First off I could care less what people think, but I love them because they are funny, friendly, odd, cute, cuddly (some of them), they give me eggs and I can hatch them!!!!! Birds have always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl and most are too stinkin expensive. So chickens it is!

Great input, guess that's my problem is I care too much what others think, always been a weakness of mine. And then I talk about this website and they laugh and give me strange looks.

Ameracaunas have these bird-of-prey eyes- when they look at you, you can't decide if they're the sweetest birds in the world or they just want to have you for lunch.

Is that what your co-workers wanted to know?

Maybe you could invite them over to meet your flock. Then they can see for themselves. Our friends and family are fascinated by our chickens. We like them because chicken TV is more entertaining than anything you can see on regular TV. We also like having our own eggs and raising them from peeps.
