My hens must be quirky too...they are 3 months old and we just got them Monday, they rarely venture out of the coop unless we bring them earthworms. They eat the worms, scratch around a bid, and run back into the coop. Maybe they're still just adjusting? Our two bantams don't seem to venture out either unless we lure them and then they don't stay out long either. I worry about them not eating enough since their feed is in the run, I did put their water back in the coop because I was afraid they weren't drinking enough. Hmmm
