Chickens won't come in out of the rain!!!

Mine "escaped" from the coop the other day, and went out into the rain. I didn't think they liked rain, so I figured they would come right back. But they LOVE worms! They were finding earthworms all over the place. I let them run around for quite awhile before they went back inside. They were soaked.

* Hi! I worried about Miss Chook, during FL's 'monsoons', too. So I found a 36" dia. Water heater drain pan (plastic) for $8 at H/D and we used it as the roof of a little open shelter and stuck a 4" high roost under it to get her off the sopping ground. Took a little training, but now she uses it most of the time if the rain is hard or long-staying.

mine love the rain,Idon't since its sorta slick in the run, but come close to dark they all go into the coop and roost. I shut them up at nite due to all the critters around, and I tell them good nite ladies, and they squawk back at me,they seem to like the snow better than the rain,
