I have three chickens, they are new but when I open the hatch in the morning they wont go down? I have a pretty big coop and they all seem to be very happy. I'm getting three eggs per day. I have both food and water in the coop and only water in the run. If I moved their food to the run, would this force them to go out? I am confused on why they don't want to go out. Any help would be great.

How new are they? If they've only been with you for a couple days, they will be hesitant to go farther than what they are still trying to get comfortable with.

And yes, of course they won't feel compelled to go outside if their food and water are convenient inside. As long as you have a secure run, try leaving the food and water outside and leave the pop hole open.

It shouldn't take them long to begin exploring the run. They don't need food and water at night, so most people only provide those items in the run.
