Hi everyone!
I've been reading all the good advice on how to kill a weasel that's killing chickens in the coop...I've lost 5 hens and 8 guinea hens to this vicious little varmit! These birds are like my babies...I'm going to put a havahart trap in the outside coop tonite baited with tuna fish...I hope he likes tuna!

Oh yikes! I'm so sorry to hear about such terrible losses. Weasels are such weaselly little critters, they can fit through the tiniest of openings. Have you tried covering any and all gaps with 1/2" hardware cloth and putting a wide apron around your coop to deter burrowing? This article may help: Predator Proofing

Welcome to BYC.
You might find it easier if you stopped the weasel from being able to get into the coop.
Get this weasel; something else will be along later.
Secure your coop.

Good luck on catching the weasel. They are a hard predator to catch and stop. However as someone also suggested. Please look over your coop and run and try to fix any and all access points. This will save you heartache in case another one moves into the area.
