Duh!! I work for the parent company of Country curtains. I will have to look for them at the next employee sale!!!!!

They are on clearance and have been pulled from all the retail stores (I tried to buy locally to save on shipping) - available online only. Don't know if that affects employee sales...

Oooh! Those curtains give me an awesome idea for vallances for my LR!!!

Hey, I was wondering if y'all could answer a question for me...I asked on the d'Uccle thread but got no reponse. I have a bunch of d'Uccles as we are trying to establish a flock for breeding and showing. (my daughter wants to do 4H types of things) I have 5 Milles and 6 porcelains that are 3 and 2mo/old respectively.(plus another 10 porcelain chicks in the *nursery*) The Milles are old enough that clearly you can tell by the comb which are boys and which are girls. The porcelain chicks ALL have pin feathers...and only 2 have visible red combs. SO I checked my milles and THEY all have pin feathers! I thought only boys had pin feathers?!?! Am I wrong about this? I looked at one of my older cochin hens and she doesn't have any. Ack! Help! I am so confused!

The sale occurs in June when Country curtains has their big sale. We are allowed to go in first and then we get a bigger discount. I have to wait until next year. But I really like them!

pin feathers are just new feathers coming in. it is not something specific to a gender, both will get them. it is the saddle, sickle, and streamer feathers that normally are found on just the cockerels and roos. d'uccle males are easy to see when they are about 3-4 weeks old even before those feathers start showing up.

are you planning on selling any of the pullets later? i was hoping to get about 2 girls for my splash millie boy i got last october as a chick and i am not particular on the colors of the hens i could put him with.

We are planning on selling some...how old were you looking for? These are pretty young still plus we got another round of babies...I can post some pics in another few weeks for you to see them if you'd like...

a few months old is fine with me. they don't need to be laying yet. i'd love to see pics of the birds! if i got chicks i would have to get more than 2 since my luck with getting d'uccles and any type of chicks is lousy! i end up with more roos than i need!

Here are some pictures of my extra Ameraucana boys. Dad was a lavender hatched from Harry Shaffer's eggs. Mom was a nice blue egg-laying wheaten. One is split for the silver gene (he's the one on the left with the most black and light yellow hackle). The others are pure for gold.
