Hey Shay! I know the feeling, I got a hatchery order of chicks and forgot to tell them to label which breed is which and I am having a heck of a time here! Think you might be in my neck of the woods tomorrow by any chance to help with chick ID's...LOL

Well, thats just it, I know the breeds I ordered specifically and can tell them from each other. However, I ordered a "feathered footed assortment" and thats where the difficulty lies! LOL I think there are d'Uccles, however, would a hatchery send blue ones?? And there is a larger orange colored chick with feet feathering, not sure what breed that is. I can tell the milli d'Uccles, but also some may be cochins and I cannot tell them apart and not sure what colors the hatchery would send! I looked on feathersite, but some I could not identify there either, especially the few packing peanut clean leggers! Oh boy...name that chicken game on!

i know Cackle hatchery has blue d'uccles so i would imagine if they had them they would! but the ones i've seen pictured from Cackle don't have much for their beards and muffs when they are chicks or even as adults!

what ever they are they sure are cute!

Did you get bantams or LF?

You could also check their site to see what they carry for feather legged breeds. They have to be one of those!

Shay, did Ed send you any paperwork to fill out for the NPIP certification? I thought there would be a form on the APHIS site but there isn't.

Yes, the blue ones do have a good amount of cheek puffs because when I look down on them I need to look at their feet to tell them apart from the EE's, so they bust be blue d'Uccles. There are 2 really pretty snow white chicks with dark wings, clean legs and cheek puffs so they must be EE's too. I ordered all bantam breeds but these 2 are somewhat larger than the others. I am wondering if the big feather footed orange one is a brahma? Cindy, goos idea about checking the website for colors and breeds to help with identification. Someone had said if you ask them to identify the chicks they dob their heads. Need to remember that for next time if I dar do this again! I have 3 bators due all this weekend and am running out of room! LOL
