That humidity should be fine, that's what ours runs. We just use a spray bottle and spray them on mist everytime we need to open or even a couple times a day if they are getting dry during the last three days, we use no added water other than the daily mist in the small hatcher, the big one we just use one water tray and the same thing mist them.

Oh don't give up I know it is very heartbreaking when they are almost there and don't make it

You will get it. The flock isn't laying great right now but can bring you some eggs to play with if you aren't picky about breed, can do banty or std whichever, you will get it don't give up, takes some time to figure what works for you is all. We have never tried the egg cartons before all ours have the tuners (I'd be in big trouble we would forget to turn them for sure), the sportsman of course has the fan and one of the little giants also does.

I would like to try Laura, and this time i will lay them on their side and mist each time i have to turn them. I have a turner, but it was not working as of last spring, my friends husband took it apart and said that the problem is they use junk motors in them. I got mad at her and said, well pelnty of my chicken friends have been using them for years and have no problem. He likes to down everything other people have and do because he is one of those people that are so smart they are stupid! You know, the engineering type that can build a space shuttle, but cant use a can opener! LOL

OK. Will bring some for ya, just let me know if you prefer little or big

We have had our turners in our LG's for about 4 almost 5 years and had have two motors burn out with 4 turners. We replaced one and the other one Bryant made a little handle that goes into the hole where the cord comes out, so the eggs can still be in the egg holders and be turned by hand without opening up the bator every day (he does sometimes come up with good ideas, but don't tell him that lol)

LOL...I would prefer small breed eggs as that seems to be what I am having difficulty with and those are the size chicks I want so I would like to try and get a successful hatch before buying expensive eggs!

Darbella, i can also bring some bantam fav eggs if you would like? i also have a bantam frizzled white cochin hen in with a mixed color cochin roo i could collect a couple eggs from to bring for you.

pssttt Darlene dont forget about the egg raffle that i am haveing.

It is all eggs collect from thursday to saterday night, thats 3 days of all my breeds.

OK, I will take a couple eggs from each person offering so I can try and prove to myself I can do this. I am going to give it one more try before considering myself a failure at hatching 101...I need to make myself like that book woth the little train that keeps telling himself, "i can do it, I can do it...." LOL

My dog is driving me crazy tonight, there must be a thundersorm coming cause he will not leave my side and is acting all nervous...this is the big 100 pound dobie, not the littel 10 pound monster...I hate when he acts like this cause I allways think there is something bad going on with him. I gave him some benedryl because I also see his front paw on the top is all swollen so he may have gotten stung, he keeps liking it but I dont see a bite. I have sworn off dogs after these two are gone, and I am about to swear off chickens too. I think I will have to move to a NO PETS developement so I am not having pannick/anxiety attacks over them any more!

I will give it another try! I just feel so bad when they are almost ready and they suffocate, drown or whatever they do in there eggs to die. It is heart breaking. Ya, my dog sets me into pannik/anxiety attacks. I actually have to take neds myself because of him. It all started with the dog and now there are a few other factors that set the attacks off so they put me on seixure meds cause they are thinking they could possibly be petite seizures...imagine, little delicate seizures on a big cow like me!

Yah. They think it is a combo of my fibromyalgia and the anxiety that bring them on. I dont fall on the floor or anything like that, more like a diabetic like episode, sweats, shakes and my jaw locks up way on the back part of my mouth. It is a really weird feeling and I also get palpitations.
