I can get 2 pens done reasonably well. My bigger problem is my free range bunch (mostly old birds I let out to have fun) and the Sussex pen. That's 20' x 30' so not that easy to cover. Next year I'll be splitting it up for breeding pens and those will be manageable. I wish my crows would come back. Or even the blue jays.

Oh yeah, I have a bantam fav pullet the size of a serama! I got her from Jackie. She hatched late, and hasn't grown much since. I don't have a pic but she's half the size of most of my bantam hens.

Luckily the 2 roos the hawk got this week I wasn't keeping anyway. Booger wasn't a great example of a fav and I wouldn't have kept him for breeding. The black silkie was quite nice but I'm not going to breed silkies. I was going to bring both to Westford Sunday. But here's a pic of the bantam black fav roo I am keeping (since I know you're a fav fan).

And here's Sammy, the kids' favorite roo. Crazy boy, he keeps fence fighting with Oliver (big roo in the back). Oliver could step on him and that would be the end of him.

And the LF boy from Dick Boulanger that I think I will be keeping.

Ooooohh! Gorgeous birds! I love love love my salmon favs---and they are just hatchery chicks i raised for egg laying. Their color varies alot, so they probably aren't show quality by any means, but i love thier temperaments---really nice birds, a little shy maybe, but docile and sweet. And their color variations help me tell them apart, well some of them anyways, lol! And they lay quite well, better than some of my brown-egg layer breeds! They give me medium eggs, not large, but they lay consistently. I'm really quite impressed, and when i order more chicks to start a new flock of layers, i'm defintely getting salmon favs again. Of course everyone is molting now, so i am lucky to get 2-3 eggs per day from 28 girls total!

My big roo is a salmon fav too, he is HUGE, but very gentle. I do love the breed!

Good luck covering your pens. I can see the challenge in covering 20x30---my runs are 8x12 and 10x11 (the chickens have double the space becasue they can go underneath their coop too).

I LOOOOOVE my favs! Bantam or LF. I may order some Meyer pullets this spring. I'm hoping for a really dark girl (or more!) to put in with the boys to improve the mahogany coloring.

I have more baby Seramas hatching!
