Here it is 3:48am and I have been looking out that window at least every 40 minutes since 10pm. at one point the light was off, but I think one of the bords may have jostled the cord, and seing as it is spliced together because Wayne ran it over with the snowblower it kept going on and off everytime the cord got shifted as i was adjusting it's hanging place. But so far now it has been on steady and the window is all fogged up like a windshield on a car on a cold morning. I hope they are not too warm, but judging by how frigid it is out thee right now, I dont think that is possible. I hope everyones birds make it safe thru this cold snap we have coming. Time to move!

Would you not hear a smoke detector alarm go off if you installed one in the coop? They're pretty darn loud. I can hear when my neighbor is burning dinner, lol. You can also buy ones that connect wireless to each other and set each other off, so you could have one in the coop and one in the house and either one would make both alarm. Might be worth the piece of mind if you are that worried.

I will have to look into them. I checked out the window at one point ad the light had gone off, ut when I looked again an hour later it was on. We got a ultra heavy duty cord today and will be using that tonight. I did not let them out today because I am afraid they would get a thermal shock or something. I will probably be institutionalized at some point due to owning chickens, but at least I will be a happy cracked egg!
