Chickenstock & swaps in Ma chat thread

I have button quail hatching eggs.

I don't remember anyone ever bringing eggs, but I am sure that they would be accepted as long as they are carefully packaged and labeled so people know what they are.

Chickie'sMoma :

but Keesmom, those favs are sooo cute! i still have the 2 girls i got from you back in May, but they are going through i think a 9 month molt and stopped laying while the days are getting shorter.

Two or 3 of the salmons are from Gayle Pontious, and they have those swept back feathers around their necks.

Really pretty but some of these girls have to go!

They auction off lots of week-old chicks every year, from the incubator exhibit at the Topsfield Fair (which ended the Monday before the auction). So eggs might sell too! Maybe pack them up securely and label the box clearly with the info (like, "One Dozen Fertile Button Quail Eggs for Hatching"). And maybe add "Do Not Drop or Shake!"

there was a rabbit cage or 2 there
lots of laying hens, rabbits etc
we did really well, $19 for a rabbit, but last year rabbits went for under 5 , you just never know.
i look forward to that auction

Pots of mums, sacks of feed, small jars of honey made by local bees @ Essex Aggie -- these were all donated items.
Somebody brought a lot of silver phoenix chickens this year.
Lots of pet carrying crates that sold for a few dollars, some for a bit more.
Plentiful muscovy ducks.
A box of 3 mallard females.
Lots of call ducks and some call-East Indie crosses.
A cage full of beautiful pigeons.
One penn (female swan).
A half-dozen pairs of Mandarin ducks, and a couple of wood duck drakes.
Lots of laying hens, bantams and ornamental chickens (including - I'm assuming they were keesmom's -- Faverolles)
and while there were plenty of non-descript roosters, this year there didn't seem to be as many "cacciatore" roosters as in some of the previous auctions.
Quite a few guineas.
Lots of boxes of chicks from the Topsfield Fair exhibit on incubation.
A vintage incubator.
A six-compartment quail "coop" with feeder/waterer.
A small aquarium with filter, pump and other accessories -- sold for only a few bucks!
Parrot cages, bird cages, metal wire crates. A bunny hutch (shay's?), a really nice one.
Several pairs of finches, with cages.
Around a half dozen turkeys, royal palm and white holland.
One buff goose (shay's?)
Several pairs of button quail (Luvs Chickens's?)
Nice pair of Pekin ducks (also Luvs Chickens's?)
Still plenty of silkies.

Most sold for only a few bucks, and one guy even got a silkie rooster for free! (Granted, he had bought a lot of stuff that day so this was like a bonus).
Bunnies, and plenty of them! Some of the rabbits went for just a few dollars today, so you did very well with yours, chickn.
