Cindy said something about describing each bird, and that if I didn't ask for it they didn't do it. I thought that was the purpose to have the birds tested.
That and making sure they were healthy.
There is no number on any of the paperwork.

Look at the top left of your paperwork, That is where I got mine and that is the paperwork that has the actual test results. Mass may do it differently. The tester did not identify each bird, but he has a system that co ordinates the blood vials with the bands and it all correspons to the way he puts them into the tube tray box.

Look at the top left of your paperwork, That is where I got mine and that is the paperwork that has the actual test results. Mass may do it differently. There are two different numbers there but they don't say npip number.

There IS a difference between NPIP tested and NPIP certified. If you are indeed NPIP certified then you will have to make sure any birds or eggs you get come from NPIP certified flocks ONLY. And keep records as to where they came from.

I think I have hen number 8 going broody. I gave her wooden eggs tonight. one of my broodies hatched 8 chicks today. we almost had a freak accident. I found a silkie egg stuffed and stuck inside of a large white egg shell half. the 2 shells were stuck together, the chick had zipped but could not reach the white shell to get out. I had to peel away the white shell to get to the silkie egg. the chick was half dry inside its own shell. looks like it had pecked alot of its own shell to get out but could not pop the top due to the white shell.

Good thing you noticed.

I ended up helping out three more chicks today. They pipped the membrane but not the shell and they were dry inside so I peeled off the shell and wet the membranes and let them hatch the rest of the way by themselves. I would have lost them if I hadn't helped by wetting them.
