Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

also how?? do you teach them to enjoy the swimms
we don't have a pool and while there's loads of places for finn to swim, but it's too cold for me to go all the way in the water and wear a bathing suit, so I can only go up to my rainboots
Maybe I'll see if anyone has waders that I can borrow
We want him to be able to exercise in the summer without overheating

kennedy taught him

idk how my dad taught kenney

I let deacon out to pee and I went inside to finish making my breakfast and I went back outside to see him in the pool

screw you deacon :)
This is SO relatable!! One of the dogs loves to run after lizards and birds(and anything that moves). Whenever I let her use the bathroom outside by herself, she runs off to play and comes back with a bunch of weeds. I wish we had an enclosed potty area.:barnie

Can you get a little kiddy pool to put in the backyard with water in it?

He probably just needs to get used to the water, and if it's there for him to splash around and get in and out, he will get more comfortable with water.

You can also drop a few bits of dog food in for him to chase-- it's fun to watch a dog try to catch the floating kibble! But he will drink a LOT of water while trying to get the food, so don't do too much or he'll be peeing every few minutes for the next several hours (yup, I made that mistake once.)
