Wow, you may be on to something! At least for dogs smaller than my Gracie, or for cats. A crate big enough for Gracie would effectively block my stairwell. It's a thought, though. It would have to open at both ends.

Crate was to prevent jumping... I’m sure that there could be some sort of mechanism you could do with a leash but idk

I am presuming its very light which means it would not need much weight to tip it

this seems to be a add for a teeter totter bit it it interesting

Something can be heavy but well balanced, so just a little bit more weight is enough to make it tip one way or the other.
