I'm thinking of those, with the round faces

breeding. they used to look like this.

Over the years, dramatic dogs where bred, for a eye catching look, and "prettyness" in dog shows. This is why bulldogs used to have real muzzles *WHATTT??*

How does that work? Is he such a merle that he's only white? Or is he just a regular white dog

hes so merle that he is fully white. people breed double merles, despite the health issues, because a double merle x non merle dog = 100% merle. And I don't know if you've noticed, but EVERTHING is merle now and everybody wants merle

meanwhile the responsible way to breed merle, merle x non merle will produce 25%-50% merle.

Sounds like Merle is just like Frizzle.

Frazzles (chickens with two frizzle genes) have tons of health issues.

But when you breed Frazzle x non Frizzled bird you get 100% Frizzles.

But because the health issues in Frazzles responsible breeders never breed Frizzle x Frizzle.

IMO it's a gorgeous coloring, and I think that it's understandable that people want it, but I wouldn't want to prop up irresponsible breeding.
