Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

Do Schipperkes yip or bark? I did a bit of research on them I don’t think anything said they barked a lot :thhow much is very very barky? anything else important to know about this breed?
Read this, it says "prone to excessive barking" several times. They also tend to not tolerate small, pokey, grabby children. Some dogs will happily put up with the tugging of tiny hands, Schipperkes are a lot more likely to nip and then hide until the tiny terror is gone.

I know that some people (carefully) outcross breeds to change the traits.....could the same be done to increase the breeding population? If you crossed Breed A to Breed B, then Back to a different dog of Breed A, over and over, would eventually have purebred Breed A dogs again? Or does that not make any sense to do?
@NatJ , too.
Yes, you can, and it makes sense. It has been done to bring a trait into a breed. Another thing to do is re-open registration to unpapered members of the breed. For some breeds, there is a process for open registration, where basically, several judges look at a dog and go "Yup, that's a Labrador alright." and the dog can get registered pending health tests or a performance title for full registration.

so they can’t be off lead at all :( so no farm dog who tootles after me while I do things? Barking I can handle as long as it is not yipping.
thank you

unless its a sighthound or a hound they usually do fine with off leash training. Maybe keeping a e-collar on it will outside will be helpful for any potential emergencies.
