Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

Oh wow, I REALLY hope that that GSD isn't theirs
me too

I wonder if they are really kinda trained. When the Golden got out of its yard it almost yanked my arm off, it was like running circles around me on the leash. I wonder if it was just exited or what

Hey! I wanted to ask if any of you have any experience with those "rescues" who mainly take dogs from puppy mills and sell them (often for a high price). Are any of these "real" rescue organizations? Do they do anything to shut down the puppy mills they're taking dogs from? I was looking for a specific breed and came across this rescue that took dogs from puppy mills. We asked about it and it seemed to me that every year they took dogs from the same puppy mills, but I could have misunderstood what the worker said. I did not buy from them. I felt very uncomfortable getting an abused dog for a high price from a rescue like that. What are your thoughts?

I *think* they take the older females that otherwise will be disposed of. Of course, to get then they likely have to buy then from the mill, which means they need to make that money back to continue next time.

I could be wrong though

Yeah, I've seen mostly older females, but some puppies. So they are saving dogs by paying puppy mills. How is that different from buying from a pet store because you feel sorry for the dogs?

Because pet stores won't buy old shedogs and defective pups?
