Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

Me: I want to get into agility!
Also me: but treibbal is pretty cool tho :/
Still me: ooooooh obedience and rally seem great
Me again: Junior! Showmanship!
So do one for a while, then another.

If you try to do them all at the same time with a puppy you might confuse him, but he could probably be fine if you focus on one for some months or years, then start focusing on another one. He could probably even learn that when you go to this place, or pull out this equipment, he is going to work on this particular sport. Different place or different equipment means a different sport.

Of course there aren't enough hours in a day or a week for your dog to be really excellent in all of them at once ;)

Do obedience and rally 1st, no maturing needed for that as far as joints go
Agility next

triball, I think your dog might lack the skills for that

Junior showman ship you can do at any age, too.. at the same time as agility. Its not super time consuming

Rally is less fancy than obedience, right?

I looked it up and they basically have to go fast and follow your commands on where to go and what to push, but i'm not super interested in it

Good point, and akc.org said that usually junior showmanship classes are free

Friends have a doberman puppy that is showing aggressiveness towards their other dogs (pomeranian and chihuahua) and I think a bit of resource guarding....how to fix? The puppy isn't actually living with them, though, which makes it harder
Apparently the puppy 'needs to be trained' so visits on the weekends and lives elsewhere, instead of living with them and going to classes

Hnnnnnnnnnng ok
My local kennel club is a thing
but does not seem to do classes
the nearest thing with classes has junior showmanship for $50 for a half hour of instruction
