Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

Mental stimulation=when a dog gets enough exercise )training (did I say it right?)
Mental stimulation= when a dog is using their brain, not just their muscles. Teach new tricks, work on old trick in higher distraction environments, make them work for their meals, use puzzles to feed their meals (puzzle toys, Kongs, snuffle mats), play games like hide and seek (with you or with toys) etc.

^^a list of 52 different tricks to teach a dog

I'd recommend playing games where he has to find you, a toy, or a treat. For finding you, have one person hold him, hide in an obvious spot, and say 'Find me!" reward him when he finds you, and make it progressively more difficult. Toys are the same, but you have them find the toy instead of you. With treats, get multiple boxes and have him find which box the treat they're in, first right way up, then upside down. Later you can scramble the boxes to make it harder.

not me admiring a 45 dollar powdered prong collar

If your dog is stuck on a trick, quit working on it so often, and try a new one.

Here are some suggestions for tricks that are intermediate

Leg Weaves
Airplane (dog jumps over your outreached arm, goes behind you, and jumps over the other)
Orbit
Downstays
Rebound (it looks hard, but I promise, its easy)
