I have 23 golden comets born May 1 2012. They all have been great. Today I started them on crumbles, cleaned their coop put in new bedding, sawdust. They walked around the barn a bit while I cleaned their area. First time out. Tonight I noticed they were all trying to cram themselves in a corner, and I mean cram right by the door. Some chicks heads were sticking out from under the door they were so squished. They were stepping and smothering the others it was bizarre. Peeping like crazy some were flying around. We put up perches about a week ago they really have not started to use them yet. I was trying to rescue the ones under the pile they were getting crushed. It was so strange some were flying like they wanted to perch others were piling on top of each other. I put a wooden step ladder in the middle of the room ( they have a room in the barn) and started to put them on that . Some stayed others were in another corner trying to be the closet one to the corner others stepping on top of them trying to be there too. what the heck is going on.
