Chicks and Chickens vs. Kids

It kind of bothers me when the kids in my neighborhood chase around the wild chickens and catch chicks with no real intent of feeding or caring for them. Should I just leave them be? Yes I know they're just kids being kids but I mean it's like, how would those kids feel if some stranger chased them and picked them up off the ground and take em home saying "omg you're so cute, you're my child now"?

How do you know their intentions? Chicks aren't self aware and get over things quickly, they dont miss their 'families'. Given that few feral birds live to adult hood, their chances are better with people.
There's nothing you can do about it, anyway.

My kid is fairly rough with my chickens and I never let chick time happen unsupervised. Most likely these kids will catch a thwarping from a broody or bossy hen and be more careful after that but I don't think chickens are more upset by having a kid mess with them than an adult scooping them up for a snuggle lol. I am not a lap chicken person obviously. My girls are very friendly but not intentionally. I would be more concerned the kids aren't washing their hands after messing with wild birds than how the chickens feel about it. If the kids can catch them they aren't that wild
