I live in Texas and for the past two weeks I have had my chicks out in the coop full time with a heat lamp at night. The temps have been in the 50-80 during the day and 35-60 at night. (The temps have been fluctuating ridiculously!)

Well last night it got down to 32 and tonight they are expecting lows around 25-29. My girls are 5 and 6 weeks old and seem to have most of their feathers.

Will they be ok outside with a heat lamp tonight? Should I bring them in or get an additional light?

This morning they were huddled up under the light but honestly they seem to always sleep that way. Just sometimes they are a little closer than others.

Opinions?

Do u have a thermometer where the chickens are laying down?

I did but they buried it in the shavings and I have yet to find it.

I should also add that they are enclosed by three walls and the front is wired. They are in a converted shed. The only with that comes in is a south wind. And we have been getting winds from the north the past couple days.

Anyone else?
