Thanks everyone! I always wonder what image people have of New Mexico. We are at 6000 feet elevation with a lovely climate. You can drive an hour and be at 10,000 feet in the tall pines or an hour the other way and be in low cactus type desert. There are a couple dozen deer around much of the time. since they were all born here around us we walk with 15 feet or so of them, although I take a much wider route when the bucks are feeling frisky!

Zenbirder, Wonderful pictures! I live in the Texas Panhandle and have a great love for New Mexico. I have a daughter who lives in Friona. That is close to Clovis. I zip over that way on a motorcycle quite often. Especially since I have a brand new grandbaby over there. I also know what Catahoula Leopards are. Great dogs!

It is very interesting to watch the comfort zone prevail, the deer and chicks get closer by the day. I can't wait till it looks like Africa and the chicks are picking ticks from the back of the deer
