Chicks and grit ... a few questions.

I have 6 chicks that are about 2 weeks old. They are on the chick starter and was wondering about treats and grit.

What kind of treats could they get? My 3 yr old gave them a worm over the weekend and they loved it! They did not like yogurt at all. What else can I give them?

Also, if I am giving them a treat, say once a day, do they need grit? If I get grit can I get away with parakeet grit?

I would not feed treats until they go outside on range. Parakeet grit is just fine.

i gave my

chicks little worms while in the brooder about one each i also had them out on the dirt very early i think as long as they have access to some kind of grit they will be fine think about it from mother natures perspective what does a

mamma chicken feed her chicks ? bugs of coarse

im pretty sure youll be fine as long as they have grit

Great! Thanks! I will be taking them outside this weekend for some playtime. We had a small chilly front come through with rain. So, they have not been outside yet. It is gonna get nice and warm this weekend so they will be warm enough for some playtime.
