Hello everyone,

I have chicks that range from 2-4 weeks old. I have 27 total and they are in a brooder outside. The next week it’s suppose to be raining and I have been letting them outside in their run everyday for the last week. I don’t want them hot and cooped up all day for a week.

what age is okay for them to go out?
They have a tarp stretched with posts over their brooder and part of the run would they just go back in when it gets too wet out?

I don’t want anything bad to happen to them but it’s 80 degrees and muggy here and the temp is going to continue to rise through the week.
Oh also everyone knows how to get back in the coop at night it took them 2 days to figure it out even my youngest now go back in thanks to my older Pullets (4weeks) watching out for them

From your thread title, it sounds like you are asking if the chicks can go out into the rain. Is that your intention? If so, chicks can get hypothermia easily if they get drenched as they don't get fully feathered until they are around five weeks old.

There is no reason they can't be outdoors in a secure run that is protected from the weather, though.
