I currently have 10, 9 week old chicks! We have been letting them out for an hour a day supervised. The last time they were out I also had my older flock out ( The older flock is always out). My chickens are free - range in the day. Eddy my top rooster in the older flock is taking the 3 chicks that we think are roosters as a threat. Eddy pecked my chick Goose about 6 times all at once. He chased my chick Licorice ( the biggest chick) but we blocked Eddy. He pounced on my chick Bumblebee and attacked him. We had to break up the fight using a broom to block Eddy. The fight ended with eddy holding a mouth full of Bumblebee feathers. Bumblbee is not injured we broke the fight before Eddy killed/injured him. Bumblebee was not fighting back. Earlier ( Before I let the older chickens out) I had 4 chicks out 2 prob hens and 2 that seem like roosters. Once the 2 suspected roosters walked passed the big chiken coop Eddy started freaking out! After 5 min. I put the 4 in the their chick house, then let the grown ones out. Eddy came bursting out and looked for a min. for the 2 suspected roosters then realised they went home. What should I do will Eddy kill the rooster chicks? Can I trust them out side togeather?
