Chicks and treats

Hi BYC friends .. Just got my baby girls this week and they are just darling .. When is it safe to give them treats and what is good treats for the chicks ?

I personally don't start giving mine anything untill about 3-4 weeks of age. This way I know they are getting all they need from their chick starter crumb.

Just in my experience...my chics mostly ate chic started feed for the 1st couple weeks. I did on occasion give them the baby chic treat brick...forgot its real name...bought mine at tractor supply. They love it. Put it on for a few hours then remove it....a little more every day ..you just want to make sure they eat their main source of food. Treats make chics crazy happy. My welsummers and buffs are going on 7 weeks old and happy campers.

I am wondering how early do must start on treats ?
I gave them a earthworm today and they went nuts.. They are only a week old ..

I started giving mine treats at just a few days. Corn on the cob, meal worms, real worms, veggies, strawberries, they go crazy for banana..........just make sure there is grit available for them they need it for digestion. It's not necessary for chick feed, but for treats or veggies, they need it
