After a crazy week, I've accepted a position as caretaker of a small farm in sw Virginia. After 31 years living here, I'm selling my house and all my possessions in Texas and moving next month. I really agonized about my chickens and finally decided that the smarter thing for both me and my birds would be to sell them to someone here and then get new ones when I get up there. (I may be scrounging for laying hens in Va, if anyone has any spares
.)
A man came yesterday and bought all 8 of my 5 week old babies, my portable run and all my misc. chicken paraphernalia. I was so sad to see them go. I keep looking out there and then having to remember that they're gone
.
I know I'll like my new chickens but I sure miss my babies!
