Hi my three week old chicks are chirping and they have water, food, temp seems right. I backed the heat lamp off a bit but they just seem to be chirping for no reason. Could size of the brooder be causing them to chirp like this????? 6 three week old chicks 3 black sex link and 3 new hampshires in a Rubbermaid container that is 2' wide and about 3ish feet long.......thanks in advance for any help you can give.

okay so they have been in this container since i got them at a day or two old. The temps here stay in the 80's and they aren't huddled up together, they're just walking around eating drinking and jumping on everything and chirping. Tomorrow I am going to make a bigger area for them to be in by two or three times the space theyre in now..... will they be ok until the morning????? any other suggestions

i agree completely and so this morning ive made them about a 5x5 square area to run and play in my garage and they seem much happier !!!!

That was a great idea! I have about 3 weeks old chicks too, and at this age they really like to explore. Mine get chirpy sometimes too, I usually take that as "We want out to play". After they have been out exploring and being snuggled to pieces they quiet down.

Mine are older than 3 weeks, have gotten big and do get loud sometimes sounds like they are arguing with each other and I run in there to check on them, they do like to chirp and make noise but over all seen fine, on nice warm days we put them out side but been kinda cold here in the 60's, but when warms up will go to put them in the coop again, they love it outside.
