Can you give chicks to a broody in a flock who is sitting on eggs? Just a random thought.

I am getting 25 chicks from schlecht hatchery (20 Cornish X, 5 Red Cornish, and 5 Americaunas). I just so happen to have a broody but it didn't even occur to me till right now that I could give her chicks. Does this ever work out?

I have a brooder and am planning on using it. I will evenutally introduce the Anericaunas to the flock to replace two hens (a RIR and a BO) I lost to a fox.

Are the eggs she's sitting on fertile? Usually introducing new chicks works out if she's just hatched out chicks of her own and you tuck them under her at night, but she'll leave her unhatched eggs if you give her chicks now. Also, 25 for one hen sounds like A LOT. I'm not sure if she'll be able to take care of them all.
