I agree that this thread is wonderful! I have a broody that will be hatching within days (maybe a day?). This thread has been minimized in its own window for days now, so we could follow the progression of the chicks!!

my first hatch are at the end of day 2 and I'm so excited! I'll be candling a few here and there, tonight a "candled" one (well maybe four) just to see if I could see anything, and I could on all the ones I looked at. I seen that island thing. One question though, is it supposed to move?

Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont. Depends if they are asleep and reactive. Watch some of the vids of older day's and you'll see movement!

If your light is bright enough, you can see the heart beating at two days! Technically, if you see that blood ring, you are at least 60 hours in. Well, ok you can probably see the lightest faint of a dime sized ring at 50 hours, but you'd be pushing it.
