They die a day or two before hatching? Do they pip first? Have you checked temp on multiple thermometers and made sure humidity was right in each case for optimal hatchability?

You might want to make a thread with as many details as you can think of so people with your bator could help figure out the issue.

That is a an awesome thread!! I really enjoyed it and my son loved watching the eggs get darker! Thanks for sharing!

I have a question...as the eggs get darker it's harder to see movement, so some of my eggs don't look like they have any movement at all anymore vs. last week when they were moving like crazy. Do they slow down/ stop moving as they get bigger or have these ones possibly died? I go into lock down on wed. and I don't want to pull them out if I don't have to. I don't smell anything yet, but I'm worrried a few of mine have possibly died. I'm using a very powerful LED flashlight (I can see the veins in my hand when using it) but it's still really hard to see anything now. Any suggestions for what I should do before lock down?
Thank you, Rachel

They start getting so big they can't move that much in the egg. Don't worry about it. From the hatches I've had, if they make it past a week, they almost all hatch!
