In the midst of all this awful weather, the chicks came from Cackle hatchery. They are Golden Comets, with a few EE's. They are BIG fluffy heathy looking chicks.
They were very irritated at being so cold when they first came, but seem to have settled down to eating and drinking.
On the unhappy side, my little old Italian Greyhound, Penny, who has been around chicks all her life, came in to do email with me, saw the box of chicks next to me, and promptly reached in and killed one.
She never did anything like this before in her life, and she is claiming that she has alzheimers and did not know what she was doing, but I don't believe it. I think she just wanted a squeaky toy that she could eat.
