chick's are peeping how long till they hatch?

Question: We have several chicks that hatched last night. They still look wet. Yesterday morning I wet our 2 sponges ( they were dry) and the humidity is now 80. I removed one just now but left the other. Do I leave the wet chicks in the bator or can I move them to the warmed brooder to dry?

You can remove them, or not. I've done both. And both ways worked fine for me. They seem to dry faster in the brooder. That said, I usually leave them in the incubator until they are dry. If it seems to be taking an abnormally long time, go ahead and move them if you have a warm (95 degree) brooder.

We now have 4 hatched and 5 more pipped! I can't seem to get a good pic since they are in the bator. I will get some tomorrow when I move them to the brooder.
All five of mine hatched too!! Woot! They are fluffing up and in brooder now. Yay for us!

Dad is a Royal Palm and mom is bronze. Toms will look like bronzes and hens like Narragensett, according to another thread in this forum. I have quite a few eggs in nest with two hens sitting, some will be like these and some pure RPs. Really happy to have these all hatched.

you are going to kill me with the baby turkeys I have a hen that's laying eggs now. What would you recommend letting mom turkey hatvh them or incubate?

Quote: Aren't they too cute?? lol, I have only gotten them as day olds in the past, this is my first time hatching turkeys. I knew my little brinsea would be a tight fit for such large chicks, so I only put in 5. And that was pushing it. Then after laying at least a dozen eggs between 3 hens, two just started sitting. They dug out a nest and lined it with straw themselves. So I really don't know, but am optimistic since they have been sitting so vigilantly. We are increasing the size of their enclosure from 10x10 to 10x20 so we can separate them when we need to.
