Mine were going in at dusk, but now they go in at just before 4PM when the coop light turns on LOL. If you come to lock up the pop door too early, they all pile out and won't go back in until you go away.

I give mine evening treats. They all go into the coops and start squawking like to tell me "ok we're inside now, now where are our treats". I have to laugh. I don't know who's got who trained.
