Chicks arrived today from Meyer.

Give them 24hrs too....that takes alot out of them. Also give a mashed up boiled egg...it is a good boost. I think they will make it

This is why I chose a smaller breeder last year (in addition to getting breeds that aren't usual). They only ship chicks at least two to three weeks old who can handle the stress better and don't require as high temperatures. Plus, by that time, the weaker chicks have been weeded out. The last time I ordered from a hatchery, half of the chicks didn't survive the trip.

Glad most of yours are okay.

I got 25 from Ideal in TX shipped to NC. Two days in route in the low 20's when they arrived and all were alive and still thriving. No complaints about my first hatchery order.

I'm glad to hear about your chicks' safe arrival from Ideal. My 20 should be shipped on March 4th. Fingers crossed

I lost one of the three weaker ones so far. They are drinking the electrolyte mix ok but its not doing them much good. Anything else I can try? Vent is free of buildup, offered scrambled eggs but there not eating.
